Get your ring on!

I never wore rings before I started designing jewelry. They always looked awkward and no ring ever felt exactly right. Hand acceptance played a role here too. From talking to many non-ring wearers, appreciating the beauty and uniqueness of your own hands is an attribute that sometimes takes time to develop. Finding 'your' ring is also key. I now love to switch up between a few favourites, combining stones and metals.

We are thrilled to be featured in the Bamboo Ballroom's 20 days of Christmas. Beautiful pictures! They carry the biggest selection of Saraswati rings. From the dainty Poppy, to the statement Muse, to a plethora of stone sizes, this is the place to find yours.

Not too cool for school.

My friend Turner, or as I like to call him: the ULTIMATE campus connection, let me know that the Kali Ring was featured in the November 16th edition of the U of A's student newspaper, The Gateway.

We have no problem being known as an "artist from India." and the ring suits Michaela's look perfectly.

You can pick up your own adjustable silver or brass Kali Ring at The Handmade Mafia Night Market this Thursday and Friday night!

And she moves.

It's been a while since the last post.  Oh what have we been up to?

A huge shipment of new designs have come in and recently shown at The Works Art & Design Festival in downtown Edmonton, and now at MusicFest on Vancover Island and SOS on Whyte Avenue this Sunday.

Staying true to our roots, we can also be found at farmers markets in the Edmonton area. Johanne will be in Terwillegar on Wednesdays and St. Albert on Saturdays.

The new merchandise has yet to be photographed. It’s moving fast so hopefully we can get some pics in before it’s all gone!

And now, some pictures. . .

North Country Fair. A blast as usual:

One young lady bought an aviator cap to keep warm and covered in the rain.

My view for most of the festival.  Earrings and the sky J

Camping sandwiches. Yum!

Local crystals.

Pam looks hot all the time, but she sure knows how to make the feather necklace look purty.

At the works:

This lovely lass bought the last Hanuman pendant. We discussed Hanuman the monkey god, and his servitude to Rama and Sita. To watch an absolutely free and beautifully illustrated cartoon shown from Sita’s point of view, click . . . here!

The Ammonite Pendants are gone! More to come soon.

Heading to the coast:

We stopped by Giant Cedars Boardwalk on the way to the island. A-mazing!

Musicfest thus far:

Turquoise and the west coast, always a good combination.

It's a Block Party!

This is going to be delightful. Music, drinking on patios in the sun, tapas, fashion: a perfect Saturday night in the heart of the city.  I'll be set up on 104th Street from 5-10 pm.

Had some yeahs in the Millcreek Ravine yesterday.

Everybody must get stones.

Here's a sample of the latest merchandise dropped off at Bamboo Ballroom. The labradorite teardrop is so mystical to me. It is said that labradorite brings clarity of thought, wisdom and joy. It is also just plain beautiful.

Choosing stones in India this spring proved to be a magical experience.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Lilac Festival in Calgary where the new stone rings just flew off the proverbial rack. A certain indescribable chemistry occurs when these rings meet their owners, after all it's not everyday that you put a new rock on your finger and say, 'yeah, this one's for me.'

Alchemy in action

I was approached by a few people in Calgary who are interested in carrying Saraswati and look forward to expanding southwards.

Whoa!

The design train is operating full steam. Key words for this summer's collection: Lightning, Angels, Snakes, Twigs.

Back in Edmontown soon and ready to rock it.

West Sieeeede

Thanks to Wellness Within Health Centre, you can now find Saraswati on the west end of town.

My friend Krys just moved and during the clean sweep I became the owner of some coral earrings, which were of course promptly dismantled into charms. Here is one of the chokers you can find at Wellness Within.

The comprehensive yet discerning line of products and services at the healing centre is sublime, including some that I haven't seen anywhere else in Edmonton. From the oh so smart Éminence Organic Skin Care to Himalayan Herbals Supplements, they take that bar to a whole other level.  If you're into spa treatments and you've never tried a shirodhara, you haven't quite fully lived. Might I also mention Cranio with Linda: off the hook. She is currently booked into April.

Fresh at Bamboo

Some new and classic Saraswati is featured on The Bamboo Ballroom's website today. Check out the new turquoise rings. They are bad!

I came back from Cuba a few weeks ago and brought home some antique brooches and communist coins. New necklaces are in the works.

Saraswati in Mexico

The sun is on our minds: a photographic reminder of just how good Saraswati looks on the beach!

Nettie and Johanne: sun-drenched and decked out in the Roller Coaster and Infinity Knot Earrings

I refreshed the earring supply with some new creations at Ponytails + Horseshoes yesterday, and more brass feather cuffs will be arriving at Bamboo Ballroom next week. Go check em out!
